Europese politiek belangrijk nieuws in Vlaamse weekendkranten

Dit weekend verschijnen er in de Vlaamse kranten maar liefst 46 artikels die gaan over Europese politiek. Vooral het Belgische voorzitterschap en het Europese reddingsfonds komen uitgebreid aan bod. Ter vergelijking: we konden dit weekend maar een tweetal artikels vinden over BHV.
Alle Vlaamse kranten berichten mee over de Europese politiek. Onze journalisten besteden daarnaast ook de nodige aandacht aan ander Europees nieuws.

MEDIA PLURALISM: Dutch media concentration law abolished

On 25 November 2010 Dutch Minister for Education, Culture and Science Ank Bijleveld announced that the government will abolish the Temporary Law on Media Concentration as on 1 January 2011.
 
In doing so Mrs Bijleveld follows a Resolution from the Parliament that called on the former Government to either abolish the law or to increase the maximum allowed concentration from 35% to 50% of market share. Without action the law would have expired on 1 January 2012.

Hungarian Media Law fuels international concern

Brussels and Paris, 13th December 2010 - The European Newspaper Publishers’ Association (ENPA) and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), expressed concern at a draft law that would impose extensive fines against journalists and publishers if they refuse to disclose their sources or publish information deemed inappropriate by the government.
